Micro Ice Training Centers offer players and parents some of our areas most experienced and successful hockey instructors. We know that the instructor makes the difference, and we have the ones you want 7 days a week, 12 months a year. We are here for YOU! Each coach brings a specialized skills development program to the ice. As a whole, they have made an investment in our area's hockey community and are dedicated to enhancing the performances of each individual. With a professional and committed attitude, each coach operates under the mission of developing a young skater's potential growth through skill building exercises. When you skate at Micro Ice, you are partaking in more than just another school or camp; you are a part of a "training center." At Micro Ice, yesterday's dream becomes today's reality. Matt Deschamps: President and General Manager
A native of
Poughkeepsie, New York, Matt Deschamps brings an extensive resume as an elite defenseman and coach to Micro Ice. Deschamps
spent his college years in Orono skating for the University of Maine
Black Bears. The highlights of his career at Maine include notching an
assist on the goal in triple-overtime to win the 2004 Hockey East
Tournament Championship, four appearances in the NCAA Tournament and two
trips to the NCAA Finals. As a senior, Matt was a captain of the Black
Bears, recipient of the First Annual Shawn Walsh Memorial Scholarship,
and presented with the Richard Britt Award for Perseverance. After college, Deschamps attended
training camp with the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks in 2005. During a six-year professional
career, Matt played in the American Hockey League with the Cleveland
Barons, the ECHL with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies, Charlotte
Checkers, Fresno Falcons, Mississippi Sea Wolves, and Phoenix
Roadrunners. As a coach Matt has been
able to help develop players and their skill from mini mites all the way to the pros. He has worked with USA Hockey, coaching and evaluating
during their select festivals. He's also worked skill development with the
New York Rangers Youth Camp, Pro Ambitions, Palm Beach Blackhawks
Elite, and Champion's Edge. Prior to Micro Ice, Matt was the Site Director
of Total Hockey Florida; a hockey skills training facility in
Deerfield Beach, FL. The Micro Ice family is extremely excited to have
Matt as our President and General Manager. With his proven leadership as
a player and coach we're positive Micro Ice will continue to grow and
be the best hockey skill development facility in all of Massachusetts.
Lee-J Mirasolo: Assistant General Manager and Instructor Former captain of the Boston College Women’s Ice Hockey team, Lee-J Mirasolo, brings four years of Division One experience to coaching. As Micro Ice’s Assistant General Manager and Instructor, she aims to help players develop new skills and sharpen old ones every time she touches the ice. Lee-J was recently named the Assistant Coach of the Phillips Andover Girl’s Hockey team and also serves as the head coach of the Middlesex Islander U16 team. She believes the lessons learned inside the rink should be carried outside its walls and is dedicated to guiding future hockey generations through their unique experiences. Paul Vincent: Founder of Dynamic SkatingPaul has been a Professional skating and skills instructor, coach and consultant for over 30 years. He instructs thousands of youth hockey players from around the world and is a leader in college and professional player training throughout North America. Currently Paul is working as the skating and skills instructor for the Chicago Blackhawks. Paul writes and coordinates all the programming and curriculum for Micro Ice, which ensures that we have the best on-ice skill-development around. Mark Pandolfo: InstructorAs an integral member of Private Training Program (PTP) coaching staff, Mark has developed a reputation as one of the best shooting/goalscoring instructors in the area. Mark was a stand-out at Umass Lowell, recognized by Hockey East as a top-notch shooter. Mark played 3 seasons of professional hockey in ECHL, AHL and Europe before retiring after the 2008/2009 season. Mike Boyle: Co-founder of Mike Boyle Strength & ConditioningMike and his team provide performance enhancement training for athletes of all levels. The athletes he has worked with range from junior high school students to All Stars in almost every major professional sport. Presently, Boyle continues to serve as an assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Boston University, primarily responsible for ice hockey. Erika Hammar: Skating InstructorErika Hammar has competed at the highest level of figure skating and has brought her experience to coaching throughout the past two decades. As a highly qualified instructor, Erika plays an vital role in the Edge classes offered at Micro Ice. Hockey players experience skating from a different perspective during these sessions. In addition, Erika pilots Micro Ice's Learn-to-Skate program. |
