Learn to Skate/ Learn to Play Hockey

First Stride: 3-5 year-olds with Micro Ice instructor on ice

Learn to Skate: This program is a structured class for school age children introducing the basic fundamentals of ice skating, advancing from one level to the next. Beginning with the new skater falling down and getting up to the skater learning to skate forwards and backwards and achieving a great foundation of solid edge and power control.

Learn to Play Hockey: This is the next step to achieving that dream of playing hockey. All skaters are recommended to have taken Learn to Sk8 classes. Skaters will skate in full equipment and start implementing their basic skating skills to the fundamentals of skating and stick handling drills as well as general game concepts. This program is based on FUN as the most important ingredient and about 75% is fun-games.

Basic Hockey: This is for players that have gone through our learn to play hockey program, and that want to do a bit more skating and edge-work, while still having fun.

Skill Programs

3-on-3 Leagues: This incredible program is designed to give confidence and instinctive offensive skills for the player looking to elevate his game. Each player will be given a great opportunity to have numerous touches with the puck which will allow each individual to develop confidence in small areas of his game.

Stick Handling, Shooting and Passing: For all levels. Concentration on: puckhandling, protecting the puck, shooting accuracy, transfer of weight and shot selection. Proper technique is always emphasized.

Checking Clinic/Intro to Pewee: Learn how to give and receive a check, put yourself in the best situation not to get hurt. This program is perfect for anyone going to check hockey or pewees next year. We will also go over slap shots and the correct technique of this type of shot.

Micro Ice Skills and Skating: This program is a combination of both high-end edge-work and puck-skills, shooting. While keeping the coach:student ratio low we also have managed to build a curriculum that will guarantee improvement.

Spring Fever/Small Games:   The spring is a time to test the skills you have never attempted while enjoying the sport of hockey. There are no coaches that will sit you after a mistake, but rather instructors who will guide you in the direction of your ultimate objectives. There is no need to be afraid to try something different, to step outside the box, to put forth your best effort to hurdle over a fresh challenge. During these small game sessions, players will be pushed from their comfort zones in order to gain the greatest results during their springtime play.

Shooting and Scoring: This is a class where you learn not only how to shoot and proper technique, but you also learn how to score, what to think about when shooting and what to notice in a goalie.

Balance Edges, Speed and Acceleration: For all levels. Learn how to maximize the most power from each stride. Speed and power are developed through balance and edge utilization.

Defenseman Skills: For all levels. While emphasis will be on all aspects of skating, a strong concentration will be on the skill of backward skating, transition from forward to backward pivots, and strength and speed in front of the net.

Rentals: Rentals are available in the fall, based on availability. Call in or e-mail for rates and available times.
